General questions

How can I use a discount code? chevron-down

You can use your discount code in the checkout before placing your order.
Step 1: Go to the checkout and fill in your personal data and choose a shipping method.

Step 2: Go to the next page to choose a payment method and fill in your discount code. Click on ‘Apply discount code’.

Step 3: Fill in your discount code and click on ‘Apply discount’. The discount code has to be filled in without spaces and is case sensitive.

What warranty do you offer on your products? chevron-down

We offer a legal warranty on our products. If a product has a longer warranty, this will be stated on the product. With light bulbs the warranty equals the average lifespan of burning hours.

Why can Lightbulbcheap.com still sell incandescent light bulbs? chevron-down

Importing incandescent light bulbs into the European Union has been banned since September 1, 2012. However, this prohibition does not apply to the so-called ”Reinforced Construction” light bulbs, which were originally intended for professional use. Lightbulbcheap.com has been supplying these light bulbs in more than 200 versions since 2010. An additional advantage is that the lamps are more resistant to shocks and often have a longer life.

Can you keep selling these light bulbs for a long time to come? chevron-down

Unfortunately we cannot give any guarantees about this. We expect to be able to deliver our complete collection until at least mid-2022. Naturally, we also have increasingly better alternatives to the incandescent lamp, such as our LED filament bulbs.

Ordering and delivery

How do I order? chevron-down

Step 1: Select the right products. Enter the desired quantity and click on the blue 'Add to cart' button.

Step 2: Go to the shopping cart. You can always find this at the top right of the site. You can view your order here and change it if you wish. To complete your order, click on the orange button ‘Proceed to checkout’.

Step 3: Fill in your address details, choose the shipping method and check your order. Click on the orange button ‘Next’.

Step 4: Select a payment method and check your order. Click on the orange button ‘Place order’ to finish your order.

What is the delivery time? chevron-down

With each product is an up-to-date stock and the expected delivery time. Are all products in stock and did you place your order before 20:30 on working days? Then your order will be send from our warehouse at the same day. Holidays excluded.

When one or more products have a longer delivery time, the complete order will be shipped as soon as all products are in stock. You can contact our customer service if you want to receive your order in parts in this case.

What wattage do I need when I want to replace an incandescent bulb by a LED bulb? chevron-down

In the list below you can see the incandescent bulb wattages with the corresponding LED lamp wattages. These wattages are average and serve as a guideline.

What light temperature do I need in which space? chevron-down

2200 - 2700K = Very warm atmospheric light. Ideal for living rooms, bedrooms and restaurants.
3000K = Warm light. Ideal for classic offices and general use.
4000K = Cool white light. Ideal for warehouses, workshops, stables but also offices with a modern and cool feel.
6500K = Very cool white light. For photography or galleries where bright neutral colors are important.

Which bulb fitting do I need? chevron-down

The fitting is often noted on the old lamp. You will then need a lamp with a matching fitting.

Can I use a different wattage with Fluorescent tubes and PL lights? chevron-down

No. With a fluorescent tube, the wattage determines the length of the tube. If you choose a different wattage, the tube will have a different length.
With PL lamps, the lamp base is different per wattage. So another wattage lamp will not fit in your holder.

Can I order without VAT as a foreign company? chevron-down

Of course. If you enter your VAT number in the checkout screen, the VAT will be deducted automatically. You must enter your VAT number without spaces, periods and punctuation marks.

You can always contact our customer service if your VAT number is not accepted.

I forgot my password. What should I do now? chevron-down

Click on this icon: or at 'Account' and 'Sign in' at the top right of the site. Then enter your email address and click on 'forgot password'. We will immediately send you a new password by email.

Returns

My order was delivered incorrectly or defective chevron-down

It is of course annoying if you have received a wrong or malfunctioning product. Occasionally something can go wrong at the factory or when packing your order. We would like to solve this for you as soon as possible. Even if you have been using the product for a while. We can often ship the correct or well-functioning product the same day.

If you have received a wrong or defective product, we ask you to send an email to [email protected]. Clearly state the order number, article and what is defective in the product. If you add a photo to the email, we can process your request faster.

Can I return or exchange products? chevron-down

Has your order been delivered correctly, but would you rather return a product? Then it is no problem at all to return a product. A condition is that you have not received the product more than 14 days ago when you request the return from us. In addition, the product and packaging must be in original condition. You may test a product as you would in the store before purchasing it, but the product must not have been used or installed for a long time. If you want to return a product, the shipping costs are for your own account.
